DESCRIPTION:BC’S MOST PRESTIGIOUS WINE EVENT\nBC Iconic Reds\, in conjunction with our retail sponsor\, Sutton Place Wine Merchant\, will be holding the 11th annual BC Iconic Reds Wine Tasting Competition on Wedensday\, November 14\, at The Sutton Place Hotel.  We are pleased to invite you to judge 18 to 20 of B.C.’s best Bordeaux style wines priced from $35 to $135\, including B.C. Wine Studio Siren’s Call Harmonious\, Black Hills Nota Bene\, Black Sage Vineyards Meritage\, CedarCreek The Last Word\, Clos du Soleil Signature Red\, Hester Creek The Judge\, Intersection Axiom\, La Stella Fortissimo\, Lake Breeze Tempest\, Lariana Cellars Fifteen\, Laughing Stock Portfolio\, Mission Hill Oculus\, Noble Ridge Reserve Meritage\, Painted Rock Red Icon\, Perseus Invictus\, Poplar Grove Legacy\, Road 13 Fifth Element Red\, Similkameen Collective Consensus\, Summerhill OM and Vanessa Vineyards Right Bank.  These wines are over $1\,000 in value.  This is the most prestigious tasting of premium BC red wines ever held.  Each year\, at this exclusive tasting\, we seek to discover the best of the best in blended red wines that BC has to offer. Nowhere else will you be able to taste this array of wines at one sitting… and certainly it can never be reproduced at this price.\n\nWHAT’S IT ABOUT?\nWines are divided into two flights and are tasted blind.  There will be no food provided before the tasting\, so please do not come on an empty stomach.  During the tasting you are provided bread and water for palate cleansing. \nThere is a short break between flights\, during which JoieFarm’s exceptional vintage Quotidien Brut sparkling wine will be poured for a toast to the late John Levine and a selection of specialty cheeses\, charcuterie and accoutrements will be offered as palate refreshments.\nWhile some wine knowledge is an asset\, the results of our previous ten tastings prove you need not be an expert to expertly judge wines.  We provide you with our Tasting Guide teaching you how to judge and score wines. \nAt the end of the tasting\, you submit your top five choices and results are tabulated\, after which top finishers are announced.\nOur special guest is John Schreiner\, foremost author and authority on the wines of Canada and author of “Icon”\, for which our tasting may be a cornerstone.\n\nOrdering Wine with $20 Event Wine Purchase Credit \nor\nBuying Wine $20 Sutton Place Wine Merchant Voucher\nYou will be given the opportunity at the event to order these special wines in whole cases or to purchase lesser quantities at a later date.  Orders for complete cases of wines being poured (6 bottles or 12 bottles depending on the winery’s case format) will be accepted at the event with a $20 credit given for an order of $50 or more.\nIf you do not place an order at the event\, you will receive a $20 voucher redeemable at Sutton Place Wine Merchant on a purchase totalling $50 or more for one or more bottles of the wines poured at the event. \nSome wines are rare and allocations are very small\, so may not be available in sufficient quantities to fill all orders or be in store inventory.  If an Event Wine Purchase Credit is used towards the purchase of a wine that is not available\, the purchaser will be given the option of using the credit for other BC Iconic Red wines.\n FAQs\nAre there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?\n You must be 19 and ID is required.\nHow can I contact the organizer with any questions?\nsimon@sipwines.ca\nWhat’s the refund policy?\nNo refunds.  Tickets are transferrable.\n  \n
