DESCRIPTION:Save the date!\n\nWhen?\nSunday April 1st 7pm-10pm\n\nWhatever am I saving the date for?\nWe are marrying two things that we love: food and soulful feels\, in an evening of spoken lyric karaoke with snacks provided by Picnic Club and a special performance by Vancouver music duo Booty EP. We’re going to call it a Sunday Soul Session.\n\nWhat is this “Spoken Lyric Karaoke” thing? \nImagine you’re going up to do your karaoke cover of a song but instead of singing\, you do your own interpretation of the lyrics in spoken word or in the style of slam poetry. You can share your own rendition of whole or parts of a song’s lyrics that you have connected to for any reason or no reason at all. It’s not about looking good or looking any way at all\, it’s just about having fun\, being yourself\, maybe paying homage to an artist or just sit back and clap/snap for others as they share song lyrics that they’ve connected with. \n\nWho are these Booty EP guys? \nBooty Ep is a Vancouver based duo inviting you on a dreamy chill time through their imagined forest of visuals and sounds. Cat person A: Francis Hooper (synth\, guitar\, vocals) and cat person B: Alli Deleo (keys\, vocals) collaborated and started “just having lots of fun….” They blend chill hip-hoppy beats among a rich tapestry of electronic instruments\, shoegazey guitar\, topped with soft vocals. We love them and they’ll be doing a special performance on April 1st. Where do I go for the Sunday Soul Session?\nAt a hidden gem we’ve discovered that’s not currently open to the general public yet: Falconetti’s Open Air Rooftop Patio\, located at 1812 Commercial Drive! We’re hoping for clear skies but not to worry if the weather disagrees\, we’ve got you covered with glass enclosure all around and heaters to keep you cozy so you won’t miss out on the dreamy views of the city while you’re sharing food\, sharing feels\, and sharing love.
