DESCRIPTION:Join us on July 31 for Best Vegan Burger Challenge as we raise funds for animal friends that have been affected by BC wildfires: http://bit.do/bestveganburger \nhttp://www.cbc.ca/beta/news/canada/british-columbia/animal-shelters-bc-wildfire-evacuees-1.4202189 \n *** We’re still looking for contributions to cover rent and or items for BBQ (burgers\, tomatoes\, condiments\, salad\, etc)*** \nHow it works? \n1. Join as a team to make burgers (premade at home) with your favourite recipe (or from the internet). Chef Will Laurent (vegan brunch chef at the The Acorn) will judge the best vegan burgers. Will’s going away so last chance to say goodbye before heading to Africa. No cover for teams. \n2. If you don’t want to make burgers just join us to enjoy the burgers. Sliding scale $15-20 will cover costs\, music\, and donations for the fire rescue. So invite your friends as well. Family friendly event. \nNOTE: The facility would have a bbq/grill only\, so premake your burgers then grill bbq at the event. You would have access to washrooms/sink but not a kitchen facility. \nTime: 6-10pm\, Monday\, July 31\, 2017\nLocation: Britannia Community Centre\, 1661 Napier Street\, Vancouver  \nCover: Sliding scale $15-20 will cover costs\, music\, and donations for the fire rescue. Nobody will be turned away for lack of funds. \nThe Vancouver Humane Society is taking our donations and 100% directing it to the organizations caring and rescuing animals from forest fires in BC. They will be present at the event. \nThanks to Chef Lexington Ambrose\, ZEND Conscious Lounge\, Chefs Brian Luptak and Devon Latte for contributing and making this event great! All vegan buns generously donated by Silver Hills Bakery from Langley\, BC. Pure\, plant-based foods for dogs local brand DOGG and an anonymous donor have stepped up to cover part of the hall rent.
